In this video, I explain why it’s a good idea to have both a solar generator and gas generator, and I demonstrate charging the solar generator (Delta 1300) with our Champion gas generator. I also give suggestions on what to look for in a gas generator for this purpose.
I particularly like the 4500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter 200988 and two of the 2000 Watt Dual Fuel Inverter 100900 generators connected by a parallel kit sold separately. Be sure to contact your solar generator manufacturer first to be sure it will work okay with you setup. Also, the 2000 Watt units are not electric start. Also, Model 100263 and at least another has been discontinued so verify yours is not. And… Don’t forget… The watt rating you see on the name is the surge watts while using gas! The surge watts for propane will be less and the actual running watts on both will be less than that. Look up the specs first!
